overview
At Civiconnect, I developed internal dashboards and reporting systems that gave the organization a clearer view of its clients, projects, resources and program performance.
I collected, cleaned and combined data from multiple platforms, built interactive Power BI dashboards and created reporting tools that allowed teams to explore current metrics without searching through separate spreadsheets and systems.
My work also included analyzing participant feedback from ConnectCamps to understand how campers developed technical and soft skills across each cohort. These insights supported ongoing program improvements and government reporting requirements.

My Process
Provide a short summary of your recent projects, highlighting the most important things. My role was to build that foundation, from organizing the underlying data to designing the dashboards and explaining what the results meant.
*Note: Some dashboard data has been removed or modified for confidentiality.

1. building a data foundation
I collected, cleaned and combined data from several internal sources to create a more accurate and consistent reporting system.
Using Power Query, I standardized information, corrected errors and transformed the data into formats that could be used across the dashboard. I then created relationships between tables and developed calculated columns and measures using DAX.
This created one connected data model that could support company reporting, client tracking and program evaluation.

2. designing the dashboard
I designed the Power BI dashboard to reflect Civiconnect’s brand identity, using familiar colours, shapes and navigation so the system felt like an internal company platform rather than a generic report.
The introduction page gave users direct access to company performance, the client directory, web development and marketing data.
I added summary tiles, filters, slicers and drill-through functions so users could begin with a high-level view and move into more detailed information when needed.

3. tracking performance
The company dashboard brought key operational metrics into one view, including:
Current client count
Completed projects
Project and employee work hours
Cohort and stream information
City and sales data
Resource allocation
Program performance
Users could filter the results by cohort, stream, city and sales information. The dashboard also included scheduled refreshes and current data connections.

4. creating client directory
I built an interactive client directory that gave the team a clearer view of every organization Civiconnect had worked with.
Each client profile included information such as project status, start and end dates, point of contact, completed projects, total project days and work hours.
I also added cohort and stream filters, a search function and drill-through navigation so team members could quickly locate a client and move from company-wide results into the details of an individual project.

5. quanitiative research
I collected and analyzed feedback from ConnectCamps participants to understand how their skills and confidence changed throughout the program.
The evaluation looked at areas such as web development, marketing, technical knowledge and soft-skill development. I compared responses across cohorts to identify patterns, strengths and areas where the program could be improved.
These insights helped Civiconnect understand the participant experience and make informed changes to future camp programming.

6. immproving workflows
I used Power Query and Power Automate to reduce repetitive data preparation and improve reporting accuracy.
I automated parts of the collection, transformation and reporting process, scheduled dashboard refreshes and created systems that were easier for the organization to update over time.
I also prepared government reports on program performance and participant outcomes, helping Civiconnect demonstrate its results and maintain funding eligibility.
the outcome
The dashboards gave Civiconnect a centralized and interactive view of company operations, client work and program performance.
Teams could move from high-level metrics into detailed client and cohort information, filter the data according to their needs and access updated insights through one internal platform.
The ConnectCamps evaluation also gave the organization a clearer understanding of participant growth and provided evidence that could be used to improve programming and support government reporting.
