Culture, Festivals & Live Experiences

overview

Curly Lifestyles covers live experiences where hair, fashion, music and culture naturally come together.

The work includes photography from festivals such as Some Kinda Festival, coverage of concerts and curly hair shows, street interviews and participation as a vendor at community Christmas markets.

Each experience is approached through a clear editorial lens, focusing on the hairstyles, personal style and conversations that make an event memorable. The resulting content gives audiences a closer look at the people and culture surrounding the main attraction.

The process

Curly Lifestyles looks beyond the headline experience to capture the audience, personal style and textured-hair stories happening throughout the event. This creates more human and relatable coverage while giving festivals, shows and cultural organizations additional content that reflects the people attending.

1. finding our angle

Each event begins with identifying the story that best fits the Curly Lifestyles audience.

At festivals and concerts, the focus may be standout hair-and-fashion combinations, attendee style and the energy of the crowd. At curly hair shows, the attention shifts toward creative techniques, industry professionals, brands and emerging trends.

This direction keeps the coverage focused rather than creating a general collection of event photographs.

2. capturing festivals & events

Photography and video are used to document both the overall atmosphere and the smaller details that define the experience.

Festival coverage includes crowd moments, performers, vendors, hair, fashion and candid interactions. Photos from events such as Some Kinda Festival show how personal style contributes to the wider culture and visual identity of an event.

The strongest images can be developed into social media features, visual recaps and editorial content that continues to promote the experience after it ends.

3. adding real voices

Street interviews add context and personality to the visual coverage.

Attendees are invited into short, approachable conversations about their hairstyles, personal routines, fashion choices and relationships with their natural texture.

These interviews turn audience members into active participants in the story and create content that feels conversational rather than staged

4. in person experiences

Curly Lifestyles also participates in live experiences as a vendor at community Christmas markets and through attendance at curly hair and beauty shows.

These settings created opportunities to introduce the brand directly, speak with new audiences and learn more about their interests and experiences.

The combination of event coverage, conversations and in-person participation shows how Curly Lifestyles can operate as both a media platform and an active part of the experience.

the outcome

The work has created a growing collection of original photography, interviews and event-focused content centred on hair, fashion and culture.

It demonstrates the ability to enter a live environment, identify the strongest audience stories and translate them into visual and editorial content with a recognizable point of view.

The project also gives festivals, concerts, hair shows and cultural organizations a clear example of how Curly Lifestyles could cover their events while highlighting the people who make them memorable. It is about noticing the people, style and conversations that give the experience its identity.
